Sheriff: Deputies catch man drunk driving when investigating another incident

MAZOMANIE (WKOW) -- A domestic incident suspect is arrested for his 5th OWI when he comes back home, where deputies already are.

Sunday around 11:20 a.m., the Dane County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Village of Mazomanie for a harassment complaint. A woman said she was getting multiple text messages that were harassing and threatening from her ex-boyfriend, Peter K. Horton, 42, of Madison.

Deputies went to Horton's home in Madison to talk with him. When they were getting there, they saw Horton drive up in his vehicle. Deputies say it was determined he had been drinking and conducted a field sobriety test. Horton was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated - 5th Offense.

Horton was taken to the Dane County Jail and booked on a felony OWI charge, as well as a charge of Domestic Disorderly Conduct.
