Police and Fire Commission dismisses complaint against Heimsness

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison's Police and Fire Commission dismissed a complaint Monday against Officer Stephen Heimsness filed by Police Chief Noble Wray.

The complaint called for Heimsness to be fired, but the officer has already resigned, leading to Chief Wray's decision to dismiss the complaint.

The commission is still tackling a complaint against Heimsness filed by friends of Paul Heenan.

Heimsness shot and killed Heenan last November after a confrontation.

Heimsness was cleared by the MPD and Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne.

The commission will revisit the Heenan complaint in August.
