Organizers prep for Art Fair on the Square this weekend

MADISON (WKOW) -- One of Madison's most popular outdoor celebrations of the arts will return to the Capitol Square this weekend.

WKOW sponsors, Art Fair on the Square. It's a mix of music, art and entertainment. About 450 artists from around Wisconsin and around the U.S. will be in Madison. It's an event that will support our local economy, generating nearly $25 million.

It's a major fundraiser for the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) and supports the museum's free exhibitions and education programs. MMoCA is the oldest cultural organization in Madison and this event has been enjoyed for 55 years.

Artists will display paintings, prints, photographs, sculptures, jewelry, handmade clothing, accessories and fine crafts. About 200,000 people will visit the Capitol Square for the event.

It will take place on Saturday, July 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

WKOW will have a booth set up during the event. You can come out and say hello!

Organizers say they're still looking for volunteers on Saturday and Sunday.Volunteers are especially needed for Saturday & Sunday morning and afternoon Brat & Beverage shifts from 8:30 - 12:00 and 2:30 - 6:00. Click here if you're interested.
