Agriculture highlighted at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair

Chippewa County (WQOW) - The rides, the music, and of course the food, there is a lot to love about the fair. While it may be all about fun and games for some, for others it's about hard work and competition.

The Northern Wisconsin State Fair isn't all about the carnival rides and cotton candy, it also highlights our states agriculture. Hannah and Fritzy Ullom, from Bloomer, are showing swine, dairy cows, and rabbits in this year's fair. They say a lot of hard work and preparation goes into getting your animals ready for show.

Hannah describes what the judges will look for in her cow, a black and white Holstein. She says, They'll look for the dairyness through their necks, they'll look for rump angle, they'll look that she holds her tail end down, they'll look that her back is straight across."

Hannah's pig, Si, was named the Grand Champion at the Fair on Wednesday.

If you're interested in checking out the agricultural fair there is animal judging daily and exhibits you can check out.
