WI residents charged for taking $2 million from timeshare owners

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Four Wisconsin residents are charged for scamming thousands of timeshare owners.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Mark S. Parks, 39, of New London; his wife, Mindy L. Parks, 34, of Denmark, Wisconsin.; Ashley M. Conant, 28, of Bellevue; and her mother, Eileen M. Goltz, 51, who moved to Port Charlotte, Fla., a year ago, are accused.

A criminal complaint says the four suspects cold-called owners of timeshare properties offering to help them sell the properties for a refundable fee of $200 to $2,500. Prosecutors say the group then did nothing to sell the properties and refused to refund their money.

Authorities say the scam brought about more than 100 complaints from people in 30 states.
