Man suffers facial injuries after car v. tree accident

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Janesville police arrest a man for his 5th OWI offense after he crashes a car into a tree and then runs away.

A witness said the driver, Daniel Roach, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix and the car was found with heavy front end damage. When police arrived on the scene, the driver was gone, but blood was found in the car.

Blood was also found at Roach's address on the 1900 block of Highland Drive. There was blood on the door. Police knocked and there was no response. They forced entry to check on the welfare of Roach. He was passed out with facial injuries.

He was taken to a local hospital where he remains for medical treatment. Roach will be taken to the Rock County Jail after his release from the hospital.
