One person airlifted after Pierce County crash



On Sunday, July 14th 2013 at 3:48 am the Pierce County Sheriff's Office dispatch was notified of a one vehicle crash located at County Road K and 810th St. intersection in Trimbelle Township. Upon arrival, deputies found a 2003 Cadillac with two occupants that were southbound on 810th St. and failed to stop at the intersection. They entered the south ditch and struck a stump in the yard and went airborne and hit a tree.


The driver of the vehicle, Barnadon Walter, age 20, from Ellsworth, WI was transported by North Memorial Air Care to Regions Hospital in Minnesota. The passenger, Andrew Szatkowski, age 21, from Red Wing, MN was transported to Fairview Red Wing, both with undetermined injuries.


The crash is still under investigation by the Sheriff's office. The Sheriff's office was assisted on scene by North Memorial Air Care, Ellsworth Police, and Ellsworth Fire and Ambulance.
