FOND DU LAC (WKOW) -- The Fond du Lac Fire Department says a fire on July 14th, around 11 a.m. destroyed a truck on the 100 block of E. 12th Street.

The truck was parked in between two houses.  The fire was starting to impinge the homes.

Fire Chief Peter O'Leary says, "Luckily the truck's owner was alerted by a neighbor and a call to 911 was made.  Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire before it caused too much damage to nearby homes."

The Fond du Lac Fire Department says smoldering ashes from plastic containers in the truck appear to have caused the fire.  There were no injuries.
