U.S. National Kubb Championship wraps up

Eau Claire (WQOW) - After a weekend full of lobbing lumber in the 2013 U.S. National Kubb championship, an Eau Claire team took home the top spot Sunday afternoon.

Kubbsicles defeated a team from Chaska, Minnesota to claim the Stapp King, which is the name for the winner's trophy. The Eau Claire team will be listed twice on the trophy, because they also won first place last year. More than 300 people spread across 88 teams signed up for the two day tournament, held at the Eau Claire Soccer Park. The event is the largest Kubb tournament outside of Europe where the game originated.
