Aaron Schaffhausen sentenced to life in prison without parole

UPDATE:  Aaron Schaffhausen will spend the rest of his life in prison.  A judge has given him a life sentence without the possibility of parole.  Tonight on WQOW News 18, you will hear from those who spoke at the sentencing.

(WQOW)- A father who murdered his three young daughters will likely go to prison for the rest of his life. He'll learn his fate Monday.

Aaron Schaffhausen has already admitted to killing his three girls; Amara, Sophie and Cecilia last summer at their home in River Falls, but claimed he was insane. In April a jury rejected the insanity defense and ruled that Schaffhausen is responsible for the deaths.

Each of the three counts of first degree intentional homicide carries a mandatory life sentence. The only thing a judge can decide now is when he might be eligible for parole.
