May drug investigation leads to discovery of child pornography images

MONONA (WKOW) -- Stemming from an original drug related search warrant back in May, more than 1,200 child pornography photos were found on a computer taken from an address on Dean Avenue.

The original search was executed 05/30/13 by the Dane County Drug Task Force, Monona Police Department, Monona K-9, Madison K-9, and the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation.

The search was a result from an anonymous tip of a marijuana grow operation, consisting of more than 70 plants.  The operation was dismantled, along with the seizure of processed marijuana, drug paraphernalia and multiple firearms.

36-year-old Michael Mackesey was arrested and charged with maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of THC with intent to deliver and manufacture/deliver of THC.
More than 1,200 concerning photos of child pornography were also found on a computer related storage device seized.
As a result of the investigation between DCI and Monona Police, Mackesey was again arrested 07/15/13 for one count of possession of child pornography.  In addition, 14 more counts of possession of child pornography will be forwarded to the Dane County District Attorney's office.
