Ash borer quarantine in Sauk County

BARABOO (WKOW) -- Sauk County is under quarantine for emerald ash borer.

The tree-killing bug has been found at Mirror Lake State Park, where 20 ash trees have been infested and will be cut down.

The quarantine prohibits wood products from being moved out of the county to areas that are not infested.

It means people cannot take firewood from Sauk County to non-quarantine counties.

Sauk is now the 17th Wisconsin county under quarantine for emerald ash borer.

Others in our area include Rock, Walworth and Crawford.
