Pool hours extended to help you beat the heat

Eau Claire (WQOW) - Local swimmers will have more time to keep cool at the pool this week.

Due to the steamy weather, Fairfax Pool in Eau Claire is extending its hours for this week only.  Tuesday through Thursday, the pool will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

WQOW News 18 Daybreak Meteorologist Nick Grunseth talked about the heat wave.  "Heat indices between 95 to 100 degrees are looking likely for the Chippewa Valley and under those conditions, if you are not careful, you can get heat exhaustion.  Eventually, if you don't treat your heat exhaustion, you could end up with heat stroke and that is a life-threatening situation," said Grunseth.
