Making memories at the Dane County Fair


MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Fair kicks off at the Alliant Energy Center.

You can eat cotton candy, corn dogs and deep-fried cheese curds. There are also opportunities to meet a llama or donkey. The Dane County Fair opens on Wednesday, July 17 and runs until Sunday, July 21.

The fair will feature some new tasty treats including: pork chop on a stick, cream puffs, chili cheese hush puppies, deep fried cheesecake and chocolate dipped bacon on a stick.

Parking to the event is free. There are over 5,000 open parking spots. There will be five nights of free main stage music concerts. Other activities include: shopping of jewelry, clothing, pony rides and daily horse shows.

The Dane County Fair gate is open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. General admission for people 12 and older is $8 per day or $20 for the season. Youth admission ages six to 11 years old is $3 per day. Kids five and under get in for free.
