JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Janesville police were called to a report of shots fired shortly before 2:00 Wednesday morning on Cottonwood Drive.

Officers responded within minutes and searched the area, also taking a statement from the reporting person.

Within ten minutes, officers heard a second volley of gun fire from the area.  They were able to determine the shots came from 2917 Black Bridge Road.

A perimeter was established and phone contact was attempted, but unsuccessful.  Officers verbally challenged the residents, to which they eventually exited the residence.  Three adults were detained around 3:00 a.m.  The residence was then searched for any injured people and additional suspects.  Two children were found sleeping in their beds.

At 5:20 a.m. a search warrant of the home was executed.  Officers located shell casings outside from a .45 caliber handgun.  An AK-47 assault rifle and a .45 caliber handgun were also located.  The investigation indicates the handgun was the weapon fired before and after officers arrived.

No injuries were sustained during the course of the shooting incident.  Andre Dozier and Nathan Meehan-Hill are both in custody at the Rock County Sheriff's Department for their involvement.  Additional charges may still be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
