Gas prices on the rise again


MADISON (WKOW) -- Get ready to feel that pain at the pump again, gasoline prices are on the rise.

Gas prices have went up a whopping 18 cents over the past week, and prices already stand 26 cents higher than the national average a year ago.

"The days of national gas prices below three dollars is likely a thing of the past," AAA Director of Federal Relations Chris Plaushin said.

Experts say pump prices will continue to rise through the week.

"Thanks to the uprising in Egypt oil prices have risen were much of America's imported crude oil comes from as well as a declining crude oil inventories," Patrick DeHaan, the senior petroleum analyst at, said.

Here in Wisconsin the average for a gallon of gas is $3.73, which is actually higher than the national average at $3.68. However, in Madison the price is lower than the national average by three cents.
