Gilman company pays $74,000 in OSHA fine


Gilman (WQOW) - A Gilman company where two workers lost fingers on the job has paid a big fine for safety violations.

Two workers had fingers cut off while working at the Gilman Cheese Corporation. OSHA investigated and found 10 safety violations.

OSHA was recommending a fine of $126,000 but after negotiations, both sides agreed to a $74,000 penalty. The firm also agreed to change its safety procedures.
