UPDATE: Menomonie woman killed in motorcycle crash


UPDATE: The operator of the motorcycle (Deceased) is identified as Samantha Davison, 30, of Menomonie.

The driver of the vehicle is identified as Aaric Spencer, 17, of Medford.


Chippewa County (WQOW)- One person has died because of a crash in Chippewa County Wednesday night.

It happened after 5 p.m. In the town of Eagle Point.  No names have been released, but this is what we do know.  The Sheriff's Office says two motorcycles were traveling together on Highway 178 when they came upon a vehicle, indicating it was going to turn left.  The vehicle started turning left as one of the motorcycles tried to pass on the driver's side.

They collided and the person operating the motorcycle was thrown off.  That person died.

Agency's involved: Chippewa County Sheriff's Dept, Chippewa Falls Ambulance, Anson Fire and First Responders.


 On 07-17-13 at 5:13pm the above agencies responded to a motorcycle vs vehicle traffic crash near 16557 STH 178 in the town of Eagle Point.  Two motorcycles were traveling together south bound on STH 178 when they came upon a vehicle in the south bound lane indicating a left hand turn.  The vehicle began to turn left as one of the motorcycles began to pass the vehicle on the drivers side.  The motorcycle struck the vehicle in the drivers side area causing the operator to be ejected off of the motorcycle.  The other south  bound motorcycle was not involved in the incident.  The two occupants in the vehicle were not injured.

This crash is still under investigation. 

The name victim of the traffic fatality and the occupants will be released in a future release pending family notifications.
