Developer wrote to Walker about buying state buildings
MADISON (WKOW) -- One of the largest real estate developers in Wisconsin wrote a letter to Gov. Scott Walker expressing interest is buying several state office buildings in Madison.
The Associated Press obtained records showing real estate developer Terrence Wall wrote Gov. Walker last month, around the same time the state was considering a change proposed by the governor that would allow state property to be sold without bids. It passed as part of the state budget despite objections from Democrats saying it would open the door for special deals between political partners.
AP's Scott Bauer writes Wall didn't return messages Wednesday and Thursday seeking comment.
Walker's spokesman, Tom Evenson, says to his knowledge no one replied to Wall's letter.
