Phase II of the Emergency/Urgent Care Department Expansion is Complete

MENOMONIE (Press Release) - Mayo Clinic Health System – Red Cedar has finished phase II of construction on the Emergency and Urgent Care Department expansion project. This includes a new reception/waiting area and 10 new exam/procedure rooms.

Patients should now use the regular Emergency and Urgent Care Department entrance on the southwest side of the building, which was used prior to construction.

The third and final phase of construction has begun. This will include revamping the space previously occupied by the Emergency and Urgent Care Department and updating some of the current rooms.

The entire remodel and expansion project will result in a new 6,500-square-foot addition with two new trauma rooms, three new procedure rooms, seven new exam rooms, an expanded family waiting area, a separate ambulance entrance, a centralized provider/nurse station and two triage stations.

The majority of the construction is scheduled to be completed by late fall 2013, and construction will be fully completed by December 2013.
