River Falls teen found not guilty of homicide in crash that killed friend


River Falls (WQOW) - The verdict is in Friday a for a western Wisconsin teenager accused of killing his passenger in a crash.

After a three day trial, a jury in Pierce County found Tanner Brown not guilty of homicide by negligent driving.

Brown, of River Falls, was charged in the death of Sara Goldbach. She was 14 and also from River Falls.

Brown was 17 last year when his pickup truck left the road and rolled. Investigators say he changed his story several times about how fast he was going.

Another passenger told detectives she thought Brown was in the middle of the road on a sharp curve when he swerved to miss an oncoming van and lost control of his truck.
