121 cows and calves killed in barn fire

Clark County (WQOW) - More than 100 cows and calves are dead after a barn fire in Clark County.

The fire broke out Thursday night at Naedler's Farms near Granton. Four area departments battled the flames which were pushed by brisk winds. The barn and three large additions were destroyed.

A total of 121 cows and calves died.

The fire chief says numerous firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion. He also praised the community for a large outpouring of donations of food, beverage and assistance that he's ever seen.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
