Rare illness hits Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- A multi-state outbreak of a rare disease includes several cases in Wisconsin.

200 people have gotten sick with cyclo-sporiasis in 4 states.

Four cases have been reported in Wisconsin.

They come from Grant, Brown and Milwaukee counties.

Symptoms include watery diarrhea, abdominal cramps and nausea.

The Health Department says the illness is treated with antibiotics, but it's so rare that doctors usually don't test for it, so they'll need to do a special test.

Only 5 cases of the illness were reported in Wisconsin between 2008 and 2012.
