LONDON (WKOW) -- Palace officials confirm the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a newborn son. 
 
Kate Middleton was admitted to St. Mary's Hospital in central London early Monday morning.  This is the same hospital Princess Diana gave birth to William and his younger brother, Prince Harry.
 
The newest addition weighs 8 pounds 6 ounces, and is now third in line for the British throne after Princes Charles and William.

LONDON (WKOW) -- Kate Middleton has been admitted into the hospital in the early stages of labor, palace officials confirm.

The Duchess of Cambridge was taken by car to St. Mary's Hospital in central London early Monday morning. Prince William's wife is expected to give birth in the private Lindo Wing of the hospital, where Princess Diana gave birth to William and his younger brother, Prince Harry.

Kate and William's child will be third in line for the British throne, behind Prince Charles and Prince William.
