Eau Claire (WQOW) - The finish line may be moving up for a big road project in Eau Claire.
The city says contractors are working to wrap up on Barstow Street by August 6th. That's 10 days earlier than what was originally planned. The city offered an incentive to finish early. The company will get $5,000 for each day construction is completed ahead of schedule.
Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. will be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the $1.8 million project. It's scheduled for August 7th at noon at the corner of South Barstow St. and East Grand Ave.
