Woman pleads guilty to friend's drug overdose death


Eau Claire (WQOW) - A western Wisconsin woman charged in the drug overdose death of her friend will be sentenced in October.

Tasha Kempfer pleaded guilty this week to being party to first degree reckless homicide. Kempfer, of Tomah, was charged in the death of Jeremiah Harris.

Kempfer and her mother, Michelle Johnson, were accused of supplying the heroin that caused Harris' death two years ago in the Village of Trempealeau.

Johnson is serving five years of probation for her role in the death.
