Hundreds attend Paul Ryan's session on immigration

RACINE (WKOW) -- Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan met with what he called his largest crowd for a listening session on immigration reform.

More than 300 people told Ryan the proposed pathway to citizenship takes too long.

But Ryan contends the timetable is only fair.

"We want to make sure that that person who came here first legally in the first place that waited patiently is respected for being in the front of the line. So it may be difficult and it may take 15 years to get right. I think that is a pretty good deal when we have all these undocumented Americans. We couldn't deport 11 million people even if we knew who they were and where they were."

The immigration advocates also told Ryan they wanted to see reform passed this year.
