Hope for Caleb: a benefit to help raise medical funds after near death experience

MADISON (WKOW) -- A young toddler needs your help to get medical treatment after a near-death experience.

Caleb is a true survivor. This amazing toddler and his family face a long journey of struggle, hope and survival. At 19 months old, Caleb suffered from a high fever, which led to seizures. While Caleb was in the hospital he stopped breathing. For 11 minutes, Caleb had no heart beat and no oxygen.

Local doctors and hospital staff were able to get air flowing in Caleb's lungs and restart his heart. Caleb is responding well to all the treatments and his family hopes for a recovery.

Caleb will continue therapies, but the medical expenses are very expensive. Dennis and Jackie Granowski need funds to help with Caleb's recovery.

A benefit will be on Saturday, July 27 at Baraboo Arts Banquet Hall at 323 Water Street in Baraboo. It will run from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a spaghetti dinner and silent auction to benefit Caleb. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under.
