Brett Favre calls young fan

LA CROSSE (WKOW) – Brett Favre may have broken the hearts of many Packer fans when he put on a Viking's uniform but a young Packer fan from Minnesota thinks he's number one.

Obi Christenson has spent most of his summer at Gunderson Hospital in La Crosse.  The 7-year-old has neuro-blastoma and is undergoing chemotherapy.

On a whim, Obi's dad contacted the Brett Favre Foundation and asked the former quarter back to attend his son's upcoming benefit.  Unfortunately Favre couldn't make it but he called Obi instead.  They talked on the phone for about 10 minutes.

Favre told the family he is planning to attend a Viking's game this fall.  Obi will receive a stem cell transplant at the University of Minnesota in the fall too.  Favre says if they are there at the same time, he would like to meet Obi in person.
