UPDATE: Man in critical condition after crash on I-94

St. Croix County (WQOW) - A man remains in the hospital Saturday night after a serious crash on I-94 Friday afternoon.

It happened in St. Croix County near Woodville.  A pickup was pulling a camper.  The state patrol says the driver swerved, overcorrected and the camper then made contact with a semi in the other lane.  The pickup and camper rolled.

Morris and Lee Ann Nicholson, from Amery, were in the pickup.  According to Regions Hospital in the Twin Cities Morris is in critical condition.

WQOW News 18 did reach out to state patrol on Lee Ann's condition and were still waiting to hear back Saturday night.


Eau Claire (Press Release) - At 10:42 AM on Friday August 2, 2013 a crash occurred on I-94 eastbound at mile marker 24 in St. Croix County near Woodville.

The crash involved 2 injuries.

A pick-up truck pulling a camper trailer was eastbound on I-94 in the left lane passing a semi-tractor trailer unit operating in the right lane. The driver of the pick-up swerved and then overcorrected which caused the camper to contact the semi-trailer. The pick-up and camper unit then went to the median and rolled over.

Assisting agencies included St. Croix Sheriff's Department , Baldwin and Woodville Police
Departments, and Unity Fire.

This crash remains under investigation and updates will provided.

Injuries: Life Threatening
Transported To: Regions Hospital
Alcohol Use: No

Passenger: Lee Ann Nicholson, 64, of Amery
Injuries: Life Threatening
Transported To: Baldwin Hospital

Unit 2: Truck Tractor (Semi Attached) (2001 Freightliner)
Driver:  Dennis J. Olson, 57, of Viola
Injuries: None
Alcohol Use: No


UPDATE: All lanes are now open.


Traffic Alert: The left lane of I-94 westbound is closed at mile marker 24 in St. Croix County due to a semi versus vehicle accident. The closest city is Woodville.

At least a 2 hour delay is expected.
