School worker charged with using Facebook to carry out sex crime

MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison school worker was charged Monday with using Facebook to help carry out the sexual assault of a 14-year old girl in the gym of a middle school.

Martez Malone, 22, was allowed to remain free on a signature bond after felony charges of use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, child enticement and sexual assault of a child were lodged against him.

Court documents state Malone exchanged more than 1,000 Facebook messages during a one week period last month with the teen, some of them proposing she perform oral sex on him. Records show Malone was the girl's dance instructor in a Madison School Community Recreation program at Black Hawk Middle School.

The criminal complaint states Malone kissed the girl and forced her to touch his exposed genitals at the school July 17. Records state school surveillance video show Malone and the girl walking towards a gymnasium area before the girl says the sexual assault took place.

Malone's attorney, Chris Van Wagner says Malone is an accomplished hip hop dancer who has helped many children during his time as an MSCR instructor.

Court records show Malone fathered a child with a girl who was 16 at the time.

School officials have said Malone has been placed on leave.
