Rice Lake (WQOW) -- This past year, Rice Lake product has been part of the Minnesota basketball team, as well as the Gophers track and field team. But he'll be representing one more team later this month.

In a few weeks, Ellenson will be part of Team USA at the Pan Am Junior Championships in Medellin, Columbia. Ellenson enters the event as the top American high jumper, clearing 7'2" this past year. He says the chance to represent his country is truly an honor.

"Going into the USA Championships to make it to the Pan Am Games, I was favored and I was ecstatic that I could make it," says Ellenson. "To finally make it, I can't wait to jump. It's definitely something special to represent my whole country. I can't wait to go down and do the best I can for Team USA. It's another thing to represent a college team, but to represent all of America, it makes me really proud. "

The Pan Am Junior Championships run August 23-25.
