Commission will not dismiss complaint against Heimsness

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison's Police and Fire Commission decided Monday night to let a complaint against Officer Stephen Heimsness continue.

Attorneys for Heimsness filed motions to dismiss, but all were denied.

The complaint was filed by Nathan and Amelia Royko Maurer, who are friends of Paul Heenan, the man Heimsness shot and killed last November.  The Royko Maurers claim Heimsness violated department policy during the shooting.

Now both sides have to put together witness lists and exhibits for a future hearing.
