UPDATE: Missing man with dementia found in Burnett County

Posted:

BURNETT COUNTY (WQOW) - Some good news tonight on the search for a man who went missing in rural Burnett county over the weekend.

Ron Sicard, who is 78, was found early Monday morning. The Sheriff's office says he's in good condition.

Sicard, who has dementia and diabetes, wandered away from an assisted living facility in rural Webster Friday night.

Search dogs, planes, and dozens of firefighters and volunteers searched the wooded terrain for two days.

The Sheriff says this morning someone heard Sicard calling for help, and he was found in the woods about a thousand yards from the facility.

That has law enforcement baffled, because the area had been searched numerous times. Also, Sicard's clothes were clean and he had no injuries. Investigators say it's apparent he had found shelter somewhere.

They're continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office.

Burnett County (Press Release) - The search for 78-year-old Ron Sicard was concluded when he was located in the Town of Jackson early Monday morning.

Sicard was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to an area hospital where he is listed in good condition.

Detectives are still interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen or had contact with Mr. Sicard this past weekend, and anyone having additional information should contact the Burnett County Sheriff's Office at 715-349-2121.

As the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Sicard's disappearance is ongoing, no further details will be released at this time.
