Menomonie (WQOW) -- Competition will be the name of the game at UW-Stout's fall camp.
Clayt Birmingham's team finished 7th in the WIAC a year ago. Stout loses 12 starters from that squad, and Birmingham says a number of those starting jobs are up for grabs. With a strong recruiting class pushing the team's veterans, each practice will be even more important.
"You know, we're excited. This is an opportunity, that's why they come to play," says Birmingham. "The seniors are gone and now it's time for those guys to fill the shoes. You know, there's going to be a lot of competitions out here this year."
"We're looking forward to coming out and competing out here every day. You know, being consistent out here and pulling together as a family, just doing what we've always done. You know, we play smash mouth football, and we're just excited to come out here and prove what we've got," adds senior offensive lineman Devon Greiber.
The Blue Devils open the season September 7th at Williams Stadium against Dakota Wesleyan.
