MADISON, WI (WKOW) -- University of Wisconsin freshman running back Corey Clement has shined in fall camp and is adding depth to the position.
With Jeff Lewis being moved to safety and Vonte Jackson out with a knee injury, Clement finds himself rounding out a talented group of backs with James White and Melvin Gordon.
Clement had a solid first week of camp and shined in the team's first scrimmage on Monday, August 12. He has been working with the first-team offense in week two.
Last year, Montee Ball was the short yardage guy, so coach Gary Andersen could be looking at Clement to fill that void.
"He's a big back," said Andersen. "He's had pretty good ball security as we've gone through camp. He only fumbled one time. It was a pretty good strip, but it was still a fumble. So, he's one of the possibilities down there in the red zone."
