UPDATE: Woman murdered in Park Falls identified, husband arrested

PARK FALLS (Press Release) - On Thursday, August 22nd, 2013, at about 5:21 pm, Park Falls Police Officers were requested to respond to an unknown problem occurring on the 200 block of 2nd Avenue North in the City of Park Falls.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds.  The victim was identified as Dawn R. Rambo, 37, of Park Falls.  In an emergency rescue effort, officers transported the victim to Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls, where she was later pronounced dead.

The victim's 46-year-old husband, William R. Rambo, was arrested last night on a tentative charge of First Degree Intentional Homicide.   A charge of First Degree Intentional Homicide is expected to be referred to the Price County District Attorney's Office.  No further information is expected as the investigation is ongoing pending the filing of criminal charges.

Park Falls (WAOW) -A death investigation is underway in Price County. Park Falls Police say a body was found Thursday night on 2nd Ave. North in Park Falls.

Officials are releasing few details at this point.

They were called to the scene around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

It's unclear if the victim is a man or a woman, or how they died, but Police Chief Scott Straetz says the situation is no longer a "safety issue" for the community.

Friday morning investigators were searching two homes and two vehicles.

Multiple agencies are helping with the investigation.
