Deputies need help locating woman who went missing from Chippewa County

Chippewa County (WQOW) - The public's help is needed in finding a missing woman.

The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office says Courtney Hagel was last seen Tuesday night. Friends say she was upset and threatening to harm herself when she walked away from a mobile home on County Highway X near Lake Wissota.

Investigators say she left her phone and other personal items behind. Attempts to contact her on social media and other means have not been successful. Hagel lives in St. Paul but has family in the Bloomer area.

Hagel was wearing shorts and a green tank top and sweatshirt.

Chippewa County (Press Release) - On Tuesday, August 20, 2013 the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office started an investigation into a missing woman from the Town of Lafayette.

Friends of Courtney M. Hagel, 33, reported she was upset and threatened to harm herself when she left a residence on County Highway X in the Town of Lafayette Tuesday night around 8 p.m. It was reported Hagel left on foot in an unknown direction leaving her cell phone and other personal items behind.

Hagel is described as a white female, 33,  height 5'4", weight 110 pounds, brown eyes, black hair but may be lighter and colored with blond tint, wearing shorts with a green tank top and sweatshirt.

Hagel has family in the Bloomer area however spends most of her time in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area. Attempts by family and friends to contact her via social media and other sources has been without success.

Anyone having contact or knowing the whereabouts of Hagel are asked to contact the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office at (715) 726-7701.
