Man runs 12 hours straight to raise money for Irvine Park

Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - A Chippewa Falls man spent the day running enough distance to cover two marathons in an attempt to raise money for a local park.

Jacob Nash set a goal of running 72 miles in 12 hours by winding through Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls. Nash picked up his love for running back in 2004 and says he's visited the park for many of his runs since then. This year he decided to turn his passion for running into a fundraiser for the park he remembers visiting regularly as a child.

"I've watched Irvine Park grow from what it was to what it's become now. It's a beautiful place and it's just the time to give back I guess. For all the year's it's given me, I'd like to give something back," Nash said.

Nash has raised at least $700 through his efforts and all of the money will go directly to improvements to Irvine Park.
