Attempted robbery in bank parking lot

Posted:

BLOOMING GROVE (WKOW) -- Dane County Sheriff's Deputies and Detectives were called to an attempted robbery in the parking lot of US Bank on County Highway BB in the Town of Blooming Grove late Thursday morning.

Around 11:00 a.m., a woman exited the bank and returned to her vehicle when she was approached by a white female asking for directions and a ride; then claiming to have a knife, however one was not displayed.

The suspect threatened to cut the victim if money was not provided.  The victim pushed her away and went back into the bank, at which time a 911 call was placed.

The suspect is being described as being in her early 20's, 5'6 - 5'8 tall, 100-110 pounds with blonde hair pulled back.  She was seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and light colored shorts or skirt.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office is trying to identify anyone who may have been in the area at the time and may have information on this incident.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Dane County Sheriff's Office tip line at 284-6900.
