Ringling Bros. Bell Wagon will leave Baraboo

Posted:

BARABOO (WKOW) -- The Ringling Bros. Bell Wagon will be leaving the Circus World Museum in Baraboo.

That's because it's owned by Feld Entertainment, which loaned the items to the museum in 1984.

The Ringling Bell Wagon was the first fancy wagon built for the Ringling Bros. Circus in 1891. The costumes, props and floats that were part of that loan are displayed in the elephant house and the museum's Feld building.

Feld Entertainment, based in Ellenton, Florida, recently consolidated its operations and started reevaluating its collection, which was in seven locations around the nation.

It plans to use some items for a celebration of Feld Entertainment owning the brand Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey's Circus for 50 years.

The wagon and other items will remain at the museum through mid-September.
