WI mom reacts to Fort Hood shooter's sentence

SHEBOYGAN (WKOW) -- The mother of a Wisconsin resident killed in the November 2009 Fort Hood shooting says she cried tears of relief after the man responsible was sentenced to death.

On Wednesday, Major Nidal Hasan was sentenced to death for the rampage that killed 13 people and wounded more than 30, including Staff Sgt. Amy Krueger. She was the Madison-based 467th Medical Detachment.

Krueger, of Kiel, was one of the survivors and family members who testified during the court martial and sentencing in Texas.

According to the Sheboygan Press Media, Jeri Krueger, Amy's mother, says the sentencing was an emotional release after dealing with the shooting for 3 1/2 years.

Krueger says that she would have been satisfied with a sentence of life without parole for Hasan, but she's pleased with the death sentence.
