Labor Day dessert treat for weekend events


MADISON (WKOW) -- It's Labor Day weekend the unofficial last weekend of summer and while you're entertaining guests or heading to events this weekend make sure to bring some tasty food.

Kevin English from GFS Marketplace joins Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend to talk about the Red, white and Blue Sundae dessert with berry pie.

Here's the recipe:

Walking Cobbler Sundae

Yield: 16 servings
1 Chef Pierre Fruits of the Forest Hi-Pie
½ gallon Vanilla Ice Cream
16 oz. Strawberry Preserves
Directions: Prepare Chef Pierre Fruits of the Forest Hi-Pie according to directions. Put pie into a large bowl and chop up into small pieces. For each sundae, place 5 oz. of the Pie in a parfait or dessert dish. Top with 1 scoop of ice cream and 2 tablespoons of strawberry preserves. Serve immediately.
