ROTTERDAM, Netherlands (WKOW) -- United Nations chemical weapons inspectors are believed to have arrived in the Netherlands from Syria.  Samples they have collected will be sent to laboratories around Europe.

In the labs, they will check for traces of poison gas that may have been used in a bombardment of a Damascus suburb on August 21st.

The inspectors left Syria and flew out of Lebanon on Saturday, August 31st.  An aircraft said to be chartered by the German government landed in Rotterdam that afternoon.

August 30th was the fourth and final day of the inspection.

Tests on the samples will take days.  UN disarmament chief Angela Kane will brief Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon later today on the investigation.
