Woman, 2 dogs killed in Dodge Co. train accident


TOWN OF LOWELL (WKOW) -- Officials say a woman who was walking her dogs was hit and killed by a train.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office reports Juanita Payton, 61, was walking on the Union Pacific Railroad tracks near the intersection of Blackbird and Chapel Roads in the town of Lowell, which is north of Watertown.

Payton was struck by a train traveling south around 10:20 Saturday morning. She was pronounced dead on scene. Her two dogs were also killed.

The incident remains under investigation.
