Barry Alvarez apologizes to Badger ticket holders for concession operations

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- The UW-Madison Athletic Department released a statement Saturday night from Athletic Director Barry Alvarez, apologizing to those who attended the game.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports some fans were upset the traditional group of youth vendors no longer go around into the stands selling concessions. Fans complained about long lines at the concession stand that kept them away from the game.

A.D. Alvarez sent the following letter to Badger season ticket holders.

"Thanks for your support at today's season opening win for the Badger football team. You showed dedication to our student-athletes and we appreciate your passion for Wisconsin Football.

Unfortunately, some of you had an unsatisfactory experience with our concessions operation at today's game. We are committed to providing outstanding customer service and today we did not meet your expectations. We apologize for the inconvenience you may have experienced. Please be assured we are aware of the issues and are already working with our concessions partner on solutions for next week's game.

We appreciate the support you provide our football team and look forward to seeing you next week and for the rest of the season at Camp Randall Stadium.

Barry Alvarez
Director of Athletics"
