UPDATE: Waupaca authorities ID man thrown from boat


WAUPACA (AP) -- Authorities in Waupaca County have identified a 41-year-old Illinois man killed when a boat being pulled by a truck flipped over.

The sheriff's department identified the man Monday as James Wall of Orland Park. He and a 13-year-old boy were riding in the boat on Saturday afternoon when it flipped over. Authorities say Wall sustained massive head injuries and died at the scene.

The 13-year-old boy was also ejected from the boat but did not sustain any injuries.

The driver of the truck was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.


WAUPACA (WKOW) -- Authorities in Waupaca County report one person is dead when a towed boat flipped over and caused serious head injuries.

The sheriff's department says the boat was on a trailer and towed by a pickup truck.  The boat flipped over.  Two people were in the boat.  One person died, and the other was not hurt.

The driver of the pickup truck was arrested on tentative charges of driving while intoxicated.

The victim's name has not been released.
