MADISON, WI (WKOW) -- True freshman Corey Clement proved he is more than just a clean-up man in Saturday's season opener against Massachusetts.
The tailback had 16 carries for 101 yards in the Badgers' 45-0 win over the Minutemen, despite not coming into the game until the second half.
Clement is backing the running tandem of Melvin Gordon and James White, who each rushed for more than 100 yards themselves Saturday.
In the fourth quarter, Clement got his first career touchdown with a 23-yard run.
Clement's performance helped him become the first true freshman at Wisconsin to debut with more than 100 rushing yards since freshmen started being eligible to play in 1972.
