'Superheroes' raise money for childhood cancer research

MIDDLETON (WKOW) -- A superhero run honored some real-life heroes in our area.

The Superhero Run/Walk was held Sunday by the Badger Childhood Cancer Network to raise awareness and funding for the organization. It provides support to families with kids or teens battling cancer or blood disorders.

Abbie Finnerty, a young survivor, says seeing all the support is important.

"I had a brain tumor about five years ago and they couldn't remove all the tumor but they removed most of it, and I was on chemo for two years, and now I'm here and I'm doing a lot better," says Finnerty.
Organizers hoped to raise $25,000 at the Superhero Run, which started off from Middleton's Keva Sports Center.
