Woman charged in city hall crash dies

Eau Claire (WQOW) - The woman charged with crashing her car into Eau Claire's City Hall has died. Denise Marten died Sunday at an Eau Claire hospital.

Marten was arrested four times this year for huffing from aerosol cans. In June she was placed on probation in three of the cases.

The case was still pending from the April incident where her car crashed into city hall. Police alleged she had been huffing shortly before that crash.

Police were called to a home on Eau Claire's south side Sunday morning. CPR was started and Marten was taken to the hospital where she died.

Police say there are no signs of foul play or trauma. They are now waiting for toxicology test results.
